Our Community
Here at Wilson Learning Australia we believe that ‘giving back’ is part of corporate social responsibility (and it feels good too!). As a global company, we pride ourselves on offering our clients the benefits that come with a large presence, long history and depth of knowledge, however, we also know the value of a local approach. So it is appropriate that our community support starts with Indigenous Australians.
Supporting Indigenous Australians
Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporate of Yuendumu
Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation of Yuendumu was incorporated in 1986. Warlukurlangu is a not for profit organisation that has more than 600 members, all of whom are Indigenous artists. It is directed by an executive committee of eight men and eight women representing all the 'skin groups'. It meets regularly to set policy, make decisions about the organisation and direct staff. Wilson Learning Australia have been granted a license to use the image that appears in our website masthead. We are grateful to the Artists of Yuendumu and encourage you to visit their gallery.
The Fred Hollows Foundation - Sydney Coastrek 2012
The Fred Hollows Foundation works with local communities and Indigenous organisations and governments at all levels to improve not only eye health but nutrition, aural health, women’s health, workforce training and community engagement.
This year the Wilson Wonder Women team in Australia completed the Sydney Coastrek and raised over $3,800 in support of the Foundation - THANK YOU for your generosity and support!
Supporting Women in Our Community
CARE Australia - Walk In Her Shoes 2011
CARE Australia is committed to helping disadvantaged women all across the world who have to walk great distances for basic needs such as water or firewood.
Last year we raised $1120 and would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored us!
Fitted for Work
Fitted for Work is a service committed to helping the long term unemployed and disadvantaged women obtain work, maintain employment and ultimately achieve financial independence.
In support of this initiative, Wilson Learning offers several places per year to women in need of up-skilling, be it communications or sales, behavioural versatility education or negotiation skills. We also promote the organisation in and around our head office in Sydney and act as a collection point for goods. Visit the website: http://www.fittedforwork.org/
And just for fun...
Blackmore’s Bridge Run
Wilson Learning has competed in either the run or the walk for the past 7 years as a team event. Last year we chose to support the McGrath Foundation. The team ran again on 18th September 2011 - and loved every minute! To join the many others running next year, visit: http://www.sydneyrunningfestival.com.au/
